National Anthem Auditions in Honor Of 325th Anniversary of Bound Brook To Be Held on April 15.

Contest Winners Will Sing National Anthem At Various 325th Anniversary Events

 

Bound Brook, N.J. – The Year, 2006 is banner year for all in Bound Brook.  The oldest community in Somerset County, Bound Brook will celebrate its 325th anniversary with special events planned throughout the year.   Of course, the National Anthem will be presented at many of these events.  The 325th Anniversary has announced that they will host National Anthem auditions at the Ben Maggio Rec. Center at Codrington Park located on Thompson Avenue in Bound Brook on Saturday, April 15, from 12pm-5pm.  The auditions will be open to Bound Brook Residents or students attending a Bound Brook School.

 

Adult and children are welcome to audition.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  It may be performed  a capella (without music) or with music.  If you would like a copy of the music that will be used go to http://www2.acc.af.mil/music/ceremonial/tunelist.html and pick song number 37

 

In addition to the National Anthem auditions, the event will include a special collection for The Food Bank Network Of Somerset County.  To enter the contest, please bring at least one item for the food bank.    

 

The Most needed items for the food bank are: Food Items: Rice, Soup, Tuna, Cereal (Hot/Cold), Canned Meats (Spam, Corned Beef Stew), Baked Beans, Pork and Beans, Parmalat Milk, Spaghetti Sauce, Spaghettio/Ravioli’s, Macaroni & Cheese, Canned Fruit, Canned & Powdered Milk, Jelly and Peanut Butter, Boxed Instant Potatoes, and Canned Vegetables.  Non-Food Items needed are: Toothpaste, Deodorant, Hand Soap, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Laundry Detergent, Baby Wipes, Diapers, and New or Gently Used Business Attire.

 

The following is a list of events for which singers will be chosen: 4/22 Little League Opening Day (winner will be between age 5-16); 4/29 Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner Dance; 5/4 325th anniversary weekend kickoff (day of actual anniversary); 5/6 325th Anniversary Parade; 5/29 Annual Memorial Day Parade in Bound Brook, 6/14 Bound Brook Elks Flag Day Ceremony; 7/4 Washington Campground Fourth of July Celebration; 7/9 Historic reading of Declaration of Independence; 11/18 BBHS Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner; 12/3 Bound Brook Holiday Fireman’s Parade.
