TENNIS FOR KIDS

Instructional tennis clinic for kids aged 10 to 15.  Basic strokes, strategies, and rule s of the game are taught in this program held on the Codrington Park courts during July and August.  Program is run in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Scout Council.

SOFTBALL :  (Girls)  

Grades 1 and 2:  Participants learn the fundamentals which stresses having fun.  Games are held against surrounding teams.

Grades 3 thru 5:  Participants compete in a local league against surrounding communities.  Girls are taught the rules of the game and softball strategy.  Rules are a modified version of the ones used in high school competition.

Grades 6 thru 8:  Partipants compete in a local league against surrounding communities.  Rules mirror high school competition.

SOCCER:

Pee Wee Program:   In town league league for 1st and 2nd graders.

Boro teams compete in the Bridgewater League in competitive soccer games.  Recreation Commission sponsors both boys and girls teams in league play.  Registration is in August and play begins in September.  Participants range from grade 3 thru 8.

Commission sponsors both a spring and fall soccer program.

BASKETBALL:

K-2 Clinic:  Basketball clinic run in fall for little onces.  Two nights a week at Smalley School.

Grades 3 and 4:  A youth  clinic is held for boys and girls and teach fundaments and encourage play for fun.  The clinic sessions end with in town games. 

Grades 5 and 6:  Teams for boys and girls in these grades compete in the Somerville League against surrounding communities.

Grades 7 and 8:  Teams for boys and girls in these grades also compete in the Somrville League against surrounding communities.

Spring Adult Basketball:  Teams compete at Codrington Park courts in May and June.  Resident teams play a league schedule followed by playoffs.  Sign ups are held thru the Rec. Office.

Open House Basketball:  Resident players aged 18 and up participate in pickup games on Thursay nights at Bound Brook High School.  Call the Rec. Office for details.

TRACK & FIELD:  Youngsters participate in a series of clinics covering different events and then participate in a Recreation Track Meet.

WRESTLING

Wrestling clinic for grades 2 thru 6 teach the fundaments and stresses improvement of personal wrestling skills.  Wrestlers compete in the Raritan Valley League.  Practices are held at Bound Brook High School and meets are held beginning in November.  Flyers are distributed in local schools and information will be available on the web pages.

SENIOR CITIZEN AEROBICS: 

 Light aerobics for seniors.  Held every Monday and Wednesday nights in Fall and Winter.  $40 per session.
