Somerset County and Local Library Directors To Update Public On The New Bound Brook Library On Wednesday, April  19

The John F Kennedy Democratic Club of Bound Brook to hold meeting open to entire community including Bound Brook and South bound Brook.

On Wednesday, April 19 the JFK Democratic Club of Bound Brook will host Somerset County Library System Director Jim Hecht, together with the Bound Brook branch Director Hannah Kerwin. The directors will give an update on the progress of renovations to the Bound Brook Library as well as provide information about the many  programs and services that will be available to library patrons. The meeting, which is open to all regardless of their political affiliation, will be held at 7 PM at the Ben Maggio Field House at Codrington Park, Thompson Avenue, Bound Brook.

The Bound Brook Memorial Library, which joined the Somerset County Library System in January of 2006, is the library for Bound Brook and South Bound Brook as well as now being open to anyone holding a County library card.  Bound Brook and South Bound Brook residents will have access to and borrowing privileges at the Bound Brook Memorial Library (BBML) as well as all seven additional branches of the Somerset County Library System.

On January 1, the Bound Brook Memorial Library closed for renovations in preparation for joining the library system.  During the renovation of the library building, Bound Brook library staff will be located at other library branches throughout the system. Once the Bound Brook Library is reopened, Bound Brook library users can expect to see the same friendly and familiar faces at BBML; the Library Commission has agreed to hire all of the current BBML library staff.

During the renovation, Bound Brook and South Bound Brook residents are encouraged to visit any of the Somerset County Library System branches where they will be issued new library cards. Full borrowing privileges, access to the Internet, reference help, classes and programs will be made available to all Bound Brook and South Bound Brook residents.

As part of the larger Somerset County Library System community, library cardholders will have access to a greater array of services and library materials, both print and non-print. The library’s online catalog enables users to reserve library materials and have them sent to the most convenient library branch for pick-up. SCLS also offers many electronic databases and online book clubs via the library website.

The Somerset County Library System currently has branches in Bridgewater, Branchburg, Hillsborough, Martinsville, Peapack-Gladstone, North Plainfield, Rocky Hill, Warren and Watchung. Further information about SCLS may be found on the library’s website at www.somerset.lib.nj.us

The JFK Democratic Club of Bound Brook is a social club dedicated to support of the Democratic Party and enlightened self-government and political action.  Please call 732-469-7778 or 732-469-3983 to reserve a seat.
