On August 21, 2006 the Bound Brook Recreation Commission met with Tom Dolce, East Coast representative for the DR Baseball Organization. The DR Baseball Organization is an organization that collects and distributes used baseball equipment to the needy children of the Dominican Replublican. The BB Recreation Commission employees loaded over six large equipment bags into Tom's minivan for the trip down south. The donation of the equipment was made possible in result months as a result of Bound Brook receiving a baseball equipment grant from the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.
"Some of the kids in town suggested we donate our used equipment to other kids since we received all of this new equipment. I contacted Tom and it has worked out great. We are really happy that our old equipment will be put to good use, stated Dom Longo, Bound Brook's Recreation Director.
