Parking restrictions for parade route and community day

The Bound Brook Police Department is requesting all residents, shoppers, store owners and parade watchers adhere to the parking restrictions that have been put in place for the 325th anniversary parade from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

· Route 28 (West Union Avenue) will be closed from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. as the parade travels from Tea Street to Hamilton Street.

· The Interstate 287 North exit ramp onto Route 28 will be shut down.

· Traffic traveling from Bridgewater on Route 28 and East Main Street will be detoured away from the parade route.

· Traffic into the borough from Middlesex will be detoured to East Street.

· East Main Street from Hamilton Street to Church Street will be shut down until 6 p.m. for the parade and cultural festival.

· Parking on West High Street, Imlay Place, Verona Place, Dalay Place, Hanken Road, Grove Avenue, Tea Street and Longwood Avenue is restricted from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to allow parade participants to line up on these streets.

· Parking on John Street, Church Street, Talmadge Avenue, Linden Avenue, Fairview Avenue, VanKuern Avenue and Columbus Place is restricted from 1 to 6 p.m. for parade participants to park after the parade and during the festival and awards ceremony.

· Fireworks will be at Billion- Legion Park on Veterans Memorial Drive at 8 p.m. Veterans Memorial Drive will be closed for the fireworks.

10 a.m.: Parade assembly
11 a.m.: Parade starts

Set up vendor or food booths by 10:30 am
1:00 pm Music performances start at Reviewing Stand  (All bands to play at Parade reviewing stand on Main And John Street, Bound Brook):

Ben Auletta, Jr. will DJ between bands and MC the Parade and Community Festival (fest features Music/crafters/food and various other vendors and non-profit groups)

1 p.m.: Award ceremony at end of parade

1:00 pm – The Rocketmen Band (50’s 60’s Music)

2:00 pm - Klezmer and Polka Music

3:00 pm – Cuban Music and Latin Band with Ray Rodriguez

4:00 pm - Ukrainian Youth Dancers - Barvinok Youth Dancers

5:00 pm - The Baseboards – Rock and Roll & Blues

8:00 pm    Fireworks at Billion Legion Park (East Main Street near the Queens Bridge)
