The River’s Edge Theatre Workshop proudly announces its first workshop to be held on March 25th in the offices of the BrookArtsCenter in Bound Brook.
The River’s Edge Theatre Workshop is a newly formed non-profit theatre company dedicated to providing continuing education for community theatre artisans and craftspeople. In residence at the BrookArtsCenter in Bound Brook, River’s Edge Theatre Workshop will be offering theatrical productions featuring community theatre actors and designers working under the mentorship of professional artists-in-residence. In conjunction with each production, the artist-in-residence will also conduct professional training workshops open to any and all community theatre artists who are looking to develop their craft.
To kick-off the professional training program for The River’s Edge Theatre Workshop, Margaret Salvante-McCann will conduct a fundraising seminar for non-profit theatres. As the Director of Education for Roundabout Theatre Company, Margaret Salvante-McCann supervises a nationally recognized theatre education program with a working budget of $1.29 million. This work is funded by over 30 nationally recognized foundations and by city, state and federal governmental sources including the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Education Association, the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Widelyrecognized for her expertise,Ms. McCann has published policy papers in national periodicals, given presentations at City and State education conferences, and served on advisory committees for various state and city agencies.

community based theatre artists are encouraged to attend the fundraising seminar to learn about how they can build resources to support their projects. The seminar is scheduled to take place on March 25th, from 10am to 4 pm in the offices of the BrookArtsCenter, 22R Hamilton Street in Bound Brook. A registration fee of $20 will be required to offset costs.
